Old Buildup Does Not Vanish
A softener treats the water from now on. It does not remove the mineral scale that formed before. Scale on shower doors, faucets, and drains is still there. It needs its own job, and it may not all come off.
Fixtures May Stay Cleaner
With softened water, many people see less new mineral buildup on faucets, showerheads, and glass. Soft water leaves fewer minerals when it dries. Results vary. Every home’s water and softener are different.
Soap Acts Differently
Softened water lathers more. It can leave a different kind of film than hard water did. Soap scum in the shower and sink may look new to you. It can take a visit or two to see how your surfaces react.
Look at the Area Around the Unit
Softeners usually sit in a basement, a utility closet, or a garage. Dust and small bits of residue can be left there after the install. Tell us when you book. Our standard visit covers floors and high-touch areas. We will tell you what we can do around the unit.
We Do Not Service the Equipment
Adding salt, handling resin tanks, and other upkeep of the unit are not cleaning jobs. Follow the maker’s steps or call the installer. We can clean near the unit. We do not work on it.
Give It Time
Buildup that took years to form will not leave in one visit. Soft water does not make a bathroom easy overnight. Expect a slow change over several weeks.
What to Say When You Book
If you just had a softener or treatment system put in, tell us when you book. Our standard cleaning starts at $135+ for a studio, $145+ for a 1BR, and $195+ for a 2BR. A deep clean starts at $210+, $220+, and $270+. It is a harder scrub, with select appliances cleaned inside and out. Heavy mineral scale removal is not on either checklist.
