Cleaner Field Guide
How to use: Find your service type below (Standard, Deep, or Move-In/Out). Read that section top to bottom and check off each item as you go. Do not do tasks from a higher tier unless it shows as a pre-booked add-on on the booking.
Standard Clean
Complete every item below. Nothing more, nothing less.
Kitchen
- Cobwebs removed (corners, ceiling edges)
- Countertops wiped and sanitized
- Sink scrubbed and sanitized
- Stovetop surface cleaned
- Appliance exteriors wiped (microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc.)
- Cabinet fronts wiped
- Backsplash wiped
- Fridge exterior wiped
- Dishwasher exterior wiped
- Oven hood vent exterior wiped
- Mirrors and glass surfaces wiped
- Light switches and doorknobs wiped
- Air vents dusted
- Table and chairs wiped down
- Floor swept and mopped
- Trash emptied, bag replaced, can exterior wiped
Bathrooms
- Cobwebs removed
- Toilet scrubbed — bowl, under rim, seat, lid, tank exterior, base
- Sink scrubbed and sanitized

- Mirror cleaned streak-free
- Shower/tub scrubbed — walls, floor, fixtures
- Glass shower doors cleaned
- Cabinet fronts wiped
- Towel bars and toilet paper holder polished/wiped
- Toilet paper replaced if client left a roll out

Bedrooms
- Cobwebs removed
- Dust all surfaces — nightstands, dressers, shelves, decor
- Lamps and lampshades dusted
- Mirrors wiped streak-free
- Make bed — straighten sheets and pillows. If fresh sheets are left on the edge of the bed, change them.
- Fold blankets left out, arrange pillows
- Couches and upholstered chairs vacuumed
- Hard chairs wiped down
- Light switches and doorknobs wiped
- Air vents dusted
- Closet floor: sweep/mop accessible area only — do not move shoe racks, bins, or belongings
- Baseboards wiped (accessible, no need to move furniture)
- Window sills wiped
- Blinds dusted
- Ceiling fan blades wiped
- Light fixtures dusted (exterior)
- Floor vacuumed and mopped
- Vacuum around and close to bed frame where accessible — not under the bed
- Trash emptied, bag replaced, can exterior wiped
Living Room & Dining Room

- All surfaces dusted (including decor)
- Lamps and lampshades dusted
- Couches and upholstered furniture vacuumed
- Hard chairs and seats wiped
- Fold blankets, arrange pillows and cushions
- TV screen: dry microfiber cloth only — no spray, no chemicals
- Entertainment unit dusted
- Mirrors wiped
- Light switches and doorknobs wiped

- Baseboards wiped (accessible)

Deep Clean
Do everything in Standard PLUS all items below.

- Stovetop grates: lift and scrub underneath
- Oven interior cleaned — remove racks, soak and scrub, clean interior walls
- Fridge interior: wipe surfaces around food — do not move or remove food
- Range hood interior cleaned
- Light fixture above sink fully cleaned
- Doors and door frames wiped down
- Baseboards detail cleaned (get into corners)

- Showerhead descaled
- Exhaust fan grille cleaned
- Doors and door frames wiped down
- Baseboards detail cleaned

Move-In / Move-Out Clean
Do everything in Standard and Deep PLUS all items below.
Kitchen — additions
- Inside all cabinets — clean them. If a cabinet is fully stocked with dishes or food, skip that one and note it on the booking.
- Inside pantry shelves — clean them. If the pantry is fully stocked with food, skip it and note it on the booking.
- Inside all drawers
- Fridge interior: wipe out fully. If food is still inside, wipe around what’s there and note it.
Bathrooms — additions
- Inside medicine cabinet
- Inside vanity drawers
- Inside linen cabinet shelves — skip if stocked, note it
- Behind toilet: get into the corners, detail scrub

Hard Stops
Stop cleaning and call the office immediately if you find:
- Signs of pests (roaches, mice droppings, bedbugs)
- Mold on walls, ceilings, or grout
- Biohazard — blood, feces, urine beyond normal bathroom use
- Hoarder-level clutter — you cannot safely access rooms or surfaces
- Aggressive pets that are loose and cannot be secured
- Client asks you to do something not on this list — do not agree on site, call office
Never do these no matter what the client asks:
- Move or lift heavy furniture
- Clean attics, crawl spaces, or outside upper-floor windows
- Handle antiques, artwork, or fragile irreplaceable items
- Do laundry or dishes
- Clean inside cabinets that have dishes, glasses, or food in them
- Use the client’s cleaning products, equipment, or supplies. Cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment to every job, no exceptions. If a cleaner uses client equipment or products for any reason, that is outside AHC policy and AHC bears no responsibility for any outcome.
- Move items on closet floors to clean underneath
Quick Reminders
Fridge: Standard = exterior only. Deep = wipe around food inside, do not move food. Move-In/Out = wipe out fully. If food is still in there, wipe around it and note it on the booking.
Cabinets + Pantry: Move-In/Out only. Clean them. If a cabinet or pantry is fully stocked with food or dishes, skip that one and note it — use your judgment.
Closets: All tiers = sweep/mop accessible floor, do not move anything. Move-In/Out adds: wipe inside walls and shelves.
Pet hair not on booking: Call the office. Rate changes and client must authorize.
Trash: 1 bag included. More than 1 bag = call office for approval first.
TV screens: Dry microfiber only. No spray, no Windex, no paper towels.
