Some home offices have multiple monitors, audio interfaces, mesh networking gear, external drives, and a podcasting rig. These rooms need a different kind of care than a plain desk and chair.
Why Electronics-Heavy Rooms Need a Different Approach
Standard cleaning means we wipe, spray, and vacuum surfaces without worrying about what is underneath. A room full of electronics is different. Water near openings, wrong air spray, or moving cables can hurt the equipment. In these rooms, we wipe surfaces without moving anything.
What a Standard Visit Includes Here
- Desk surfaces around (not under) equipment, using a dry or barely damp cloth rather than spray cleaners near electronics
- Floors, including careful vacuuming around cable runs without pulling or dislodging connections
- Visible dust on top of monitors and speakers is an add-on dusting request, so mention it when you book
- Trash taken out
What We’re Careful Around
We do not unplug, move, or rearrange cables and equipment. The way your cables are set up is usually on purpose. We do not spray cleaner near vents, ports, or openings on computers, monitors, audio gear, or networking equipment. We wipe dust away with a dry cloth instead. If we need to move something to clean behind it, we will ask you first.
Dust Is the Real Enemy in These Rooms
Electronics make heat and pull air through openings, so dust sticks to them over time. Dust inside openings can slow down equipment and cause overheating, especially when used all day. This matters more in a busy home office than in a guest room. We do not open up computers or equipment to clean inside. You would need to do that yourself or hire a tech person.
Cable Management and Clutter
Rooms with lots of equipment get messy with cables quickly. Dust piles up in the cables and is hard to clean. If you set up your office, bundle cables along desk legs or walls. That makes the floor easier to clean.
