A showing gets scheduled on short notice, and suddenly you need your home looking its best in a day or two instead of a week. It happens more often than you’d think, especially in a fast-moving market. Here’s how to handle it when time is tight.

Reach Out as Early as You Possibly Can

We don’t advertise a same-day guarantee, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise — availability for a last-minute booking depends on our current schedule, and sometimes there simply isn’t an opening the same day you call. What we can tell you is that the earlier you reach out once you know a showing is happening, the better your odds of getting a slot that works. Even a few hours’ notice is better than none, so don’t wait until the morning of if you can help it.

When you contact us for a rush booking, it helps to be upfront that it’s time-sensitive and give us your showing date and time right away, so we can tell you honestly whether we can fit it in and when.

What Kind of Clean Makes Sense

For a last-minute pre-showing clean, a standard cleaning is usually the right call rather than a full deep clean, simply because of the time involved. A deep clean takes considerably longer and often needs more advance notice to schedule properly. Our standard cleaning service covers the core rooms and surfaces that matter most for a showing — kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and general tidiness — without requiring the longer lead time a deep clean needs.

If you have a bit more notice (several days rather than hours) and the home hasn’t been deep cleaned recently, that’s a different conversation, and we can talk through whether a deep clean is realistic for your timeline when you call.

What You Can Do Before We Arrive

When time is short, a few things on your end can make a real difference in how the visit goes and how the home presents afterward:

Why Buyers Notice What They Notice

If you’re not sure where to focus your own last-minute effort alongside our visit, it’s worth understanding what actually catches a buyer’s attention during a showing versus what doesn’t matter as much. We break that down in What Buyers Actually Notice: Cleaning’s Impact on Home Showings, which is useful whether your showing is next month or tomorrow morning.

If We Can’t Fit You In

If our schedule genuinely doesn’t have room for your specific timeline, we’ll tell you that directly rather than overpromising and falling short. In that case, it’s worth asking us for the next available slot even if it’s after the showing — getting the home reset before the next one, or before an open house, still has value.

Setting Expectations With Your Agent

If you’re working with a real estate agent, it’s worth letting them know exactly when your cleaning is scheduled relative to the showing, especially if it’s happening close to the wire. That way everyone involved has a realistic picture of when the home will actually be ready, rather than assuming a cleaning crew can work miracles in an hour with no notice.
