What Affects Timing
Four things affect how long cleaning takes: home size, how clean it is, how many cleaners, and what extra jobs. A neat home with a small team takes less time than a messy home the same size. More cleaners working together finish faster than one cleaner alone.
Standard Cleaning
A standard cleaning means: wiping high touch areas, cleaning outside of appliances, vacuuming and mopping floors, and taking out trash. With an average home and small team, this is the quickest type. Homes with more bathrooms take longer, because bathrooms are slow compared to their size.
Deep Cleaning
Deep cleaning takes longer than standard because it adds the inside of the oven, fridge and microwave. If your home hasn’t had professional cleaning before, the first deep clean takes the longest. That’s because they’re cleaning buildup instead of keeping a clean home clean.
Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning
Empty homes have no stuff in the way, which helps. But move-out cleaning covers the deep clean checklist plus the inside of cabinets and drawers. So these visits usually take about as long as a deep clean, or longer in bigger homes.
