Babies crawl on the nursery rug and toddlers spend whole afternoons on the playroom floor, so parents care about these rooms more than most. Below you can read what we clean, what we don’t clean, and what to tell us when you book.

Why These Rooms Are Different

A nursery or playroom gets used more at floor level than most rooms. Soft toys, rugs, play mats, and low furniture sit where dust and pet dander collect. Little kids spend time on the floor with their hands and faces near surfaces. This is why these rooms need extra cleaning during regular visits.

What to Ask to Be Included

What’s Outside Normal Scope

Washing toys, cleaning soft things like stuffed animals or blankets, and handling a child’s personal items are not part of a standard cleaning visit. Parents should do these jobs, not a cleaning team. If you want toy bins organized or the floor clear before we visit, pick up loose toys first. This helps us focus on cleaning.

On Products and Chemicals

We don’t use eco-friendly, non-toxic, or green-certified products by default. We tell you the truth instead of letting you guess. If you want certain products or worry about chemicals for a baby, tell us when you book. We can talk about it before we visit.

Allergens and Air Quality

Dust and pet dander are the two biggest problems in kids’ rooms. This gets worse if you have pets or use forced-air heating that spreads dust through vents. Our guide on allergy-proofing a bedroom has tips that work for nurseries. Vacuum often and clean corners. Wash sheets on a schedule. Don’t let soft things collect dust.

Building a Simple Routine Between Visits

Between visits, simple habits keep the room from getting too messy. Pick up toys off the floor each day to keep the path clear for vacuuming. Put away some toys instead of leaving them all out. This means less dust collects. Once a week, wipe places kids touch most, like crib rails, changing table edges, and light switches. None of this replaces a professional visit, but it helps keep the room clean.

Timing Around Nap Schedules

If you book a visit that comes back each month and have a baby who naps, tell us what time works best. We may not visit at the exact same time every time. But if you tell our team when nap time is, we can try to plan around it.

Families With Young Kids in General

If you’re planning how to clean with kids in the house, read our post on cleaning needs for families with young kids. It shows how cleaning needs change when you have kids. You may want the floors cleaned more often. You may also accept more daily mess between visits.
