Before a first booking, the team usually wants a picture of the home. For a small apartment that can be a phone call. For a larger house, a deep clean or a move-in or move-out job, it can be a short walkthrough. This post lays out what that step involves and how to get through it quickly.
The First Conversation
It starts with a call, a form or an email. We ask about the size of the home, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, how long it has been since the last cleaning, and what kind of service you are leaning toward, such as a first-time deep clean or a post-move job.
What We Note in the Walkthrough
- Condition: whether the home needs routine upkeep or a deep clean first.
- Access: parking, entry instructions and stairs.
- Surfaces and finishes: anything such as natural stone that needs a careful approach.
- Pets: where they stay during the visit and any rooms to leave alone.
- Problem spots: hard water in a bathroom, a greasy kitchen, or a room full of clutter that will change the timing.
What You Will Be Asked
Expect a question about which rooms matter most to you, and whether you want one visit or a recurring schedule, since that changes the price. If there are products you would like avoided or rooms that are off limits, say so here.
After the Walkthrough
The quote is then based on what was seen rather than on the phone description alone, and the time estimate for the first visit is set. First visits often run longer than later ones because more has built up.
When a Call or Photos Are Enough
For a smaller home or a plain standard cleaning, a call with a few photos can be enough to quote. Larger homes, unusual layouts and move-in or move-out requests depend more on current condition, so someone seeing the space helps there.
Getting Ready
You do not need to stage anything. The walkthrough is meant to show the home as you live in it. Just make sure the rooms you want included are reachable, and be ready to point out any trouble spots.
